(TECH) 72 Israeli Companies At Mobile World

"Seventy-two Israeli companies were among those participating in the 2010 GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month. About 50,000 visitors from 200 countries attended the congress.

The Israeli presence was a big improvement over last year, when only 46 companies exhibited. The 72 companies are all part of the Israeli Mobile Association (IMA).

Eyal Reshef, chairman of IMA says the rise in the number of Israeli startups is largely thanks to a 70 percent sponsorship provided to the Israeli exhibitors by IMA, the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute, the Israeli Foreign Trade administration and Matimop, the Israel Industry Center for R&D.

The conference agenda highlighted the biggest trends for 2010. The first is mobile clouds - additional storage and new revenue streams to operators; and the second hot trend is 4G/LTE (Long Term Evolution), the fourth generation of networks, enabling faster downloading in 4G phones (100 megabit per second compared to today's 21 megabit/sec in 3G phones).
The 72 companies included: Aerotel Medical Systems, Asocs, BoomRing Communication, Ceedo Technologies, Spikko, trendIT, TriPlay, WaveIP, 3GVision, Fring, Infinite Memories and more." (source)
