This will mean that shoppers will not need to queue for a checkout assistant, all they will need is a membership card from their local supermarket and they can scan and pay for all of their shopping themselves.
The news have had mixed responses in Israel with some delighted at the news that they won't have to wait in long queues.
Supermarkets will be able to save money on checkout workers however some critics have said that the new technology could mean job cuts for people who are unskilled who may find difficulties finding other work.
