"...Well, Iran has established good political and economic ties with several African countries. Here are a few examples, Senegal, South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Sudan, Mali, and even tiny Gambia have economic and political ties with Tehran.
There’s nothing wrong with that. However, as Iran’s presidential aide, Mr Esfandiar Rashim Mashae’i, told Mali’s Health Minister Oumar Ibrahima Toure two weeks ago, these ties 'constitutes a part of Iran’s strategic and irreversible policy.'
Iran, even under the late Reza Shah Pahlavi, always sought not just regional but global stature. Such endeavours meet resistance and result in conflicts. Iran’s areas of potential conflicts when seeking a greater stature, The Gulf, the Middle East, and Southwest Asia are just too close to home."
