"Three children from Haiti arrived at Israel's Wolfson Medical Center last week for lifesaving heart surgery from the Save a Child's Heart (SACH) project.
The arrival of Darensky Jean Francois (3), Jacqueline Senatus (2) and Stephanie Anne-Elisabeth Bercy (13) and their mothers follows the touching and memorable story of Woodley Elsyee (6) from Haiti, who was brought to SACH for heart surgery earlier this year, shortly after the devastating January earthquake that ravaged his country.
When an Israeli rescue team brought Woodley to Israel he was greeted at the airport by hundreds of well-wishers as well as SACH doctors and nurses. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defence Minister Ehud Barak joined the SACH team to welcome Woodley, who returned to Haiti in April healthy and thriving, and started school there this month.
Thanks to extensive media exposure, SACH received the support necessary to provide the three additional Haitian children with heart surgery.
Since its inception in 1996, SACH has provided life-saving open heart surgery for more than 2,400 children and has examined and evaluated more than 5,500 children from 40 countries.
A cardiology clinic is held at the Wolfson Medical Center every Tuesday for Palestinian children from Gaza and the West Bank." (source)
