"Northern city appears unfazed by indictments filed against seven young men who carried out religiously-motivated attacks. 'They belong to a short-lived organization,' says local resident. 'You won't hear anyone preaching violence here – neither at the mosques nor at the churches'
Three Nazareth residents were indicted Monday for the murder of taxi driver Yefim Weinstein in November 2009. Another four were charged with other serious offenses, but the Nazareth street appears calm and the he indictments filed against the seven young men at the northern city's District Court did not turn into the talk of the day in Nazareth.
'The fact that these are small families and that the young men belong to a short-lived organization is the reason for the street's disregard,' said Mazen, a Christian resident of the city who is in touch with Muslim and Christian religious officials."
