(NEWS) Iranian Students Threaten To Destroy Esther's Tomb

A group of extremist Iranian students threatened to destroy the mausoleum of Queen Esther and Mordechai should Israel cause damage to the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem, Ynet reported Sunday.

According to tradition, the tomb is located in the western Iranian city of Hamadan."





(NEWS) Al-Qaeda Issues Hebrew-Language Threat

"Online recording tells 'aggressor Jews' they will not be safe until they 'leave land of Palestine'.

An al-Qaeda-linked group issued a Hebrew threat on Thursday to avenge Israel's killing of two Gaza militants, in what an expert said was the first use of the language for such propaganda.

In the half-minute-long recording posted on a website used by declared al-Qaeda affiliates, a hoarse male voice tells the 'aggressor Jews' they will not be safe from rockets and other attacks until they 'leave the land of Palestine'."





(NEWS) Australian Jewish Students Report Anti-Semitism

"More than two-thirds of respondents to B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission survey says they have experienced or witnessed some form of anti-Semitism, including written material, verbal attacks and prejudice.

In response to increased reports of anti-Semitism on campus and intimidation of Jewish students, the B’nai B’rith Anti-Defamation Commission (ADC) invited Jewish students in Victoria, Australia to fill in a questionnaire about their on-campus experiences.

More than two-thirds (68%) of respondents reported experiencing or witnessing some form of anti-Semitism. Written material, such as posters and signs, were the most common form of anti-Semitism, followed by verbal attack and prejudice."





(NEWS) Arab Man Tries To Stab Jewish Woman In Jerusalem

"Issawiya resident attempts to attack a Jewish woman near Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital in order to prove to his friends that he is not a collaborator; he is stopped by hospital guards, taxi driver.

A terror attack was thwarted in Jerusalem on Thursday, after a 50-year-old resident of the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya tried to stab a young Jewish woman near Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital.

According to a police investigation, the man was following the young woman. Near the Hadassah Mount Scopus Hospital, he pulled out a long kitchen knife and began chasing her."

British organization Just Journalism on Monday published a scathing study on the way Israel is being covered by London Review of Books – one of the most important and widely circulated literary magazines in the world.

According to the comprehensive study, the magazine systematically publishes articles clearly criticizing Israel. 'The State of Israel wishes to inculcate in its soldiers a neo-Nazi ideology wrapped in Judaism' or 'the Israelis think of Arabs much as they think of chickens of cats' are only two of the many statements which appear regularly in the luxurious magazine's articles."





(NEWS) 3.6 Magnitude Earthquake Felt In Northern Israel

"Many residents of Upper Galilee wake up as mild earthquake hits Israel. 'I felt the bed literally shaking,' Safed resident says.

A mild earthquake was felt in northern Israel early Tuesday, many residents reported. The Geophysical Institute reported an earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter Scale was felt in the Moshav Avivim area at 4:32 am. No injuries or damage were reported.

Yael of Safed said the quake caused her to wake up as she felt her house move. 'I got up and felt the bed literally shaking under my stomach, actually moving. I can't fall back to sleep I'm so afraid.'"





(NEWS) IDF Rescues Lebanese Woman Caught In Border Fence

Pics below: "Troops patrolling northern border detect elderly woman tangled in barbed wire fence on Lebanese side near mine field, safely return her to Lebanon in coordination with UNIFIL forces.

An IDF force patrolling along the northern border Saturday detected an 80-year-old woman whose clothes had tangled in the Lebanese side of the border fence. The troops informed United Nations personnel stationed at the area and rescued the woman together.


The elderly woman was caught in a part of the fence which was adjacent to a mine field and when it became clear the Lebanese Army could not assist her, the IDF stepped in.

A joint military force pulled the woman into Israeli territory while the Lebanese Army observed the rescue operation. After making sure the woman was not injured UNIFIL representatives contacted the Lebanese Army and coordinated her return to Lebanon via the Rosh Hanikra crossing.

An IDF source told Ynet the woman posed no security risk and was in evident distress. 'As a humanitarian measure it was decided to help her and return her safely to her village in Lebanon,' he said.

'The woman's rescue was performed by a joint force of engineering, scouts and Golani troops who are intimately familiar with the area and who managed to release the woman from the fence and transfer her to the Israeli side safe and sound.'" (source)

"Amnesty granted to Fatah men as gesture for Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha; part of deal signed between Israel, PA following Hamas takeover of Gaza.

Despite the stalled peace negotiations, Israel has granted amnesty to 45 wanted Fatah men ahead of the Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha, which begins Tuesday.

The gesture is part of the amnesty agreement signed between Israel and the Palestinian Authority some three years ago, according to which the Fatah men must lay down their arms and vow to avoid any armed activity against Israel."

"Student in Italian university threatened by Palestinian students, one of whom was armed. Police fail to apprehend suspects. Israeli: They shouted 'slaughter the Jews'.

An Israeli student at the University of Genoa in Italy was harassed and threatened by Palestinian students last Tuesday, only to be ignored by the police.

Assaf, a 26-year-old Israeli architecture student, was eating at the cafeteria when Ibrahim Haji, a student from Gaza, came and began taunting him."





(NEWS) Ayalon: Palestinians Must Recognize Mizrahi Jews As Refugees

"Deputy foreign minister supports new initiative calling on Palestinians to recognize Jewish refugees from Arab lands, says topic must be discussed in any future negotiations.

The peace negotiations are at a standstill, but Deputy Defense Minister Danny Ayalon thinks there's another issue that must be included in any agreement reached with the Palestinians.

According to information obtained by Ynet, a new initiative promoted by the Foreign Ministry calls on Palestinians to 'recognize Jews who exiled from Arab lands as refugees.'"

Netanyahu's speech before some 4,000 American Jews was disrupted no less than four times by protestors demonstrating against the occupation of the West Bank and the loyalty oath. They were eventually escorted out of the event hall."

"As second imam arrested this week, councilman wonders whether police are targeting Muslim clerics.

Police have arrested an additional imam for terror-related offenses, after Nazareth cleric was arrested this week on charges for inciting to terrorism.

Jaffa's Muhammad Ayash, of the al-Bahr mosque, was arrested on suspicion of involvement in security offences.

The Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court extended his remand by eight days and placed a gag order on most of the details of the case."

"Thirty-three rescued miners ask to be accompanied on all-expenses-paid Holy Land trip by 70 family members, including one mistress.

All-expenses-paid trip to Israel – mistress and nephew included. The miners rescued from the depths of a Chilean mine say they will give an affirmative response to Israel's invitation to vacation in the country, on the condition that their families can join them.

Two weeks ago, Israel invited the 33 miners who were trapped in a Chilean mine for 69 days to visit Israel over the Christmas holiday."

An unidentified group broke into the Great Synagogue on Chovevei Zion Street in Petach Tikva on Monday night, throwing holy books and prayer shawls on to the floor.

The Great Synagogue was hit by vandalism last year when swastikas and satanic cult symbols were found in graffittied on the walls. The police launched an investigation into the affair."

"New exhibition showcases specially-developed products enabling soldiers to perform duties on Shabbat without desecrating it. 'This work is necessary to integrate religious soldiers in all units,' says Chief Military Rabbi Rafi Peretz.

The Military Rabbinate unveiled a line of electronic devices enabling observant soldiers to perform various duties they are required to do on Shabbat last Tuesday. Among the new developments: Touch screens, light-bulbs, flashlights, water-coolers etc.

The goal of the exhibition was to expose military rabbis to technological solutions which could help soldiers on the field. The Israel Defense Forces will not provide the products to all units and the Military Rabbinate are hoping rabbis would encourage soldiers to purchase the items themselves."





(NEWS) Hamas Invites Ahamdinejad To Gaza

"Islamist group calls on Iranian president to visit Strip after his October tour of Lebanon, however estimates say visit unlikely to take place.

Hamas has invited Iranian President Mahmoud Ahamdinejad to visit the Gaza Strip on Monday. Ahmed Youssef, deputy Hamas foreign minister told Iranian news agency Fars that a visit from the Iranian president would lift the spirits of 'the resistance front' as it did with Hezbollah in Lebanon last month.

'We are certain his visit would be very significant,' Youssef said in an interview with the news agency. Iran has yet to provide an official response to the invitation, however such a visit is unlikely to take place as Iranian officials do not usually visit the Gaza Strip, despite politically supporting Hamas."

"National Union's Yaakov Katz warns that 'within a few years, Israel will have more than 100,000 African immigrants.' Tel Aviv's residents will have to move to Judea and Samaria, he adds.

As masses of refugees continue to make there way to Israel via the Egyptian border, Knesset Member Yaakov Katz (National Union) warned Monday that within a few years there would be over 100,000 African immigrants in the Jewish state.

Speaking at a foreign worker analysis committee meeting, Katz added that 'the number of infiltrators will only rise, just as we said it would last year. The thousands of residences needed to house the infiltrators must be added to the already problematic real estate shortage.'"

A plan to provide compensation for Jewish communal property seized by the Nazi and Soviet regimes in Lithuania was debated on Thursday for the first time in parliament.

'It's a moral and a political, as well as a legal compensation act,' Justice Minister Remigijus Simasius told the legislative body."
