Clashes broke out in Beirut Tuesday evening between the Shiite organizations Hezbollah and Amal and the Sunni militia al-Ahbash. Lebanese media reported that at least three people were killed, one of them is believed to be a senior Hezbollah official.
The Lebanese army was deployed to the scene, and mosques in the area urged the gunmen on both sides to hold their fire."
