(NEWS) Universities That Oppose Values Of Iranian Regime 'Should Be Destroyed'

"Iran's science minister has said universities that are against the values of the regime and its Basij militia should be razed to the ground, RFE/RL's Radio Farda reports.

Kamran Daneshjou was quoted by Iranian media as saying on August 29 that universities should follow the path of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.



'If the supreme leader says something that is absolutely in disagreement with our views, we should obey him, no questions asked,' he said.

Khamenei recently described Iran's universities as 'the targets of enemies' conspiracies.'

Former student leader Ali Afshari told RFE/RL it is astonishing and deplorable that a person who holds the position of science minister and considers himself an academic should utter such words.

No university has ever followed the views of the establishment in Iran, Afshari said. This is 'against the essence of a university.'

'A conspiracy by Iran's enemies against universities in Iran is just a myth which the establishment uses to justify its suppressive, restrictive measures against universities,' Afshari said.

Daneshjou also said that documents which prove that the intelligence agencies of the enemies are plotting to lead university students astray will be made public in the near future.

An Iran-based Radio Farda website viewer commented, 'As an Iranian, I was ashamed when I heard the Science Minister's words; what ignorant leaders rule my country!'

Daneshjou, who as the head of the Interior Ministry's election headquarters played a significant role in the disputed presidential vote last year, has dismissed some 20 university chancellors in the past three months.

Since President Mahmud Ahmadinejad took office, a large number of university professors in Iran have been dismissed or forced to resign." (source)

(NEWS) Iran: Man Accused Of Homosexuality To Be Executed

"Islamic court convicts 18-year-old of sodomy, issues death sentence without presenting evidence or lawyer representation. Man admits to acts after allegedly being tortured.

An Iranian court handed a death sentence to an 18-year-old man accused of homosexuality offences. The British newspaper Guardian reported on Sunday that the man was convicted of sodomy although no evidence was presented against him and his "victim" admitted of lying to the court.

According to the Report, Ebrahim Hamidi, who is not gay, was arrested two years ago along with three of his friends at a Tibliz suburb, after fighting with members of another family."




My Opinion

And they say Israel has human rights issues, here is a man doing no harm to anyone else and yet he must be executed but no one seems to give as much of a damn because terrorism seems to be an alright way to behave these days...

Come on "human rights activists", why don't you set sail to Iran to protest the torturing and inhumane killing of truly innocent people... Just because the law states that it is unacceptable, does not mean it is a humane or right way to seek justice for broken laws...

On that note, why is it a law?, who has the right to tell someone they cannot be homosexual?, sure some religions are against it but this should not be something that any government can hold against you...

I call upon any and all "human rights activists" to practice what you preach and what you stand for, go do something about this, why are you wasting your time, energy and resources on something that you are completely wrong about and obsessed over?, Gaza. If Israel or the US decides to execute people for being homosexual or something else as ridiculous as that, then I will ask you to do the same thing to us and them but we are not doing this, we are not doing anything more than what your own countries would also do given the circumstances...

I dare you to make your time on this earth worthwhile, show us that you care more for real human rights violations than you do about something you do not even understand properly and have an addition for...

(NEWS) Iran Clerics To Fight West Influence In Schools

"Government attempts to tighten grip on students after youthful rebellion sparked by elections last year.

The Iranian government said it will send hundreds of clerics into Tehran's schools this fall to fight Western influence and the appeal of the political opposition, local newspapers reported Sunday.

The move is seen as an attempt by the government to tighten its grip on the schools in the aftermath of last year's disputed presidential elections in which many Iranian youth flocked to the opposition."

My Opinion

It seems to me that Islam is becoming more and more fascist by the day, why would anyone want to be a part of a non-progressive religion thats trying its best to push the world back to the dark ages and to take away human freedoms and rights of expression...

Its kind of ironic that the strictest religion in the world, Islam, contains the largest amount of lunatics, you would think that religion should make you a better person and allow you to find your peace in life, however Islam seems a million miles away from all this...

Any government that cannot take criticism from their people either through words or through cartoons, is a weak government, they do not have the faith in themselves being rulers if their people are pulling faces at them... How childish and weak of governments to ever impose such laws against their people...
