Serious diplomatic conflict: Israel is accusing the Norwegian government of funding and encouraging blatant anti-Israel incitement.

According to reports received by the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem, the Trondheim Municipality is funding a trip to New York for students taking part in the 'Gaza Monologues' play, which 'deals with the suffering of children in Gaza as a result of the Israeli occupation.'"

(BLOG) 7 Facts That Show Norway As Anti-Israel And Anti-Semitic

1. Back in 1992, colonel Haukland, commander of f Norway’s UNIFIL troops to Lebanon proved Norway’s commitment to upholding the absolute neutrality of UN peacekeeping troops by helping PLO terrorists escape Israeli detention.
2. Prohibition of ritual slaughter. Since 1929 Norway has had a law that prohibits ritual slaughter. A similar law was adopted by the Nazis in Germany 1933, but abolished after WW2. The EU has expressly allowed ritual slaughter in its EU directive of June 22 2009 where the requirement for stunning is derogated in favor of human rights and freedom of religion (article 18). Norway continues to have a prohibition on ritual slaughter, arguing that the welfare of the animal takes precedence over religious freedom. Nevertheless, Norway allows whale hunting as well as regular hunting, where by definition the legal requirement of pre-slaughter stun has been derogated. Also, the Sami people have been afforded the right to upkeep their cultural rites and may perform ritual slaughter on reindeers intended for personal consumption. In contrast, the tiny Jewish community in Norway must import kosher meat, paying high custom tariffs for their right to religious freedom, but only to have overzealous customs inspectors regularly tearing the kosher seal on all bags in the imported consignment, rendering the meat taref, or non-kosher for religiously observant Jews.
3. The Norwegian government is engaged in a de facto boycott of Israel, by denying Israeli companies participation in military contract bidding, denying German subs destined to Israel to practice in Norwegian waters and cancelling military events where Israeli officers are scheduled to give talks.
4. Norway is the only country in the Western world where a sitting foreign minister has written a most troubling foreword to the book Eyes in Gaza by Israel haters Gilbert and Fosse, thereby endorsing classic anti-Semitic claims such as blood libel, etc

Norwegian artists, newspaper cartoonists have no reservations using specific Jewish religious symbols, such as the Star of David, or otherwise resort to classic anti-Semitic stereotypes, to defame Israel or ridicule central Jewish religious sentiments, whereas they exercise rigorous self-control to not offend any other religion, in particular Islam.

The minster of Education, Kristin Halvorsen, the only minister in the Western world to have participated in an anti-Israel demonstration that turned into a hate fest against Jews, has yet to respond to calls to implement specific action against anti-Semitism in Norwegian schools, more than 18 months after a young high school student first wrote a letter to the editor of Dagsavisen to draw attention to this very dark side of multiculturalism in Norway.

(BLOG) Norwegian UNIFIL Workers Helped Arab Terrorists Escape In 1992

"Two escaped prisoners who had arrived in the Norwegian custody in southern Lebanon would not be left to their own fate, decided then Colonel Hagrup Haukland, chief of NORBATT, the Norwegian battalion in South Lebanon. That fate probably meant that they would again be taken prisoner, tortured and possibly killed in the Mossad-controlled Khiam prison in southern Lebanon.

Therefore, the two Lebanese fled in September 1992 dressed up in Norwegian uniform jackets and UN helmets, placed in a Norwegian armored vehicles and raced past Israeli soldiers and Lebanese militiamen who hunted them out of the Israeli occupied territory. It all happened in the deepest secrecy. Norwegian authorities did not know what had happened, and the management of the UN force in Lebanon, UNIFIL, was not informed before the operation had come so far that it had to be carried out."

(NEWS) Norwegian Embassy In Israel Receives Anthrax Hoax Letter

"The Norwegian Embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel, received a suspicious envelope containing an unidentified white powder and a threatening letter.

According to MiddleEastMonitor.org.UK, this is the fifth embassy in Tel Aviv where such an incident has occurred in the last two weeks. The Turkish embassy received a similar envelope earlier this week. Last week, suspicious envelopes were sent to the U.S., Swiss and Spanish embassies in Tel Aviv.



Reports indicated that the some of the letters have contained threats against a number of high ranking officials and have contained the Nazi swastika, according to MiddleEastMonitor.org.UK.

Officials said the envelope and its contents were sent by the Israeli police to a biological lab for testing and identification, So far, no injuries have been reported. In the previous Tel Aviv cases, the white powder was deemed to be harmless.

Anti-Turkish sentiment has been on the rise in Israel and ties have deteriorated between the two countries after the government in Ankara launched criticism of Israel over the deadly 22 day offensive on Gaza that ended in January 2009. This was further aggravated when Israeli commandos killed nine Turkish activists during a May 31 raid.

Letters containing a white powder have been considered a potential deadly threat since five people were killed in the U.S. when anthrax spores were mailed to news media offices and U.S. senators in the weeks following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks." (source)

(NEWS) Norway Oil Fund Excludes 2 Israeli Companies

"Norway's $450 billion oil fund has excluded two Israeli firms involved in developing settlements and one Malaysian forestry firm on ethical grounds, Norway's finance ministry said on Monday.

The excluded companies are Africa Israel Investments (AFIL01.TA), Danya Cebus Ltd and Samling Global Ltd (3938.HK). The ministry said that the oil fund has already sold all its holdings in these companies.

The central bank-managed fund follows ethical guidelines set by the government and does not invest in companies that produce nuclear weapons or cluster munitions, damage the environment or abuse workers' rights."
