(NEWS) Livni: It's Stupid To Think A Weak Obama Helps Israel

"Kadima leader slams Netanyahu's peace negotiations strategy and those who hoped for Democrats defeat in US elections in Knesset, Netanyahu tells MKs he hopes the PA desires peace as much as Israel and the US do.

Opposition leader Tzipi Livni on Wednesday delivered a speech full of barbed criticisms both of the Netanyahu government's conduct in peace negotiations and the reactions among many media commentators and Israeli political figures that the Democrats' recent electoral loss was good for Israel.

'For those of you who believe that the loss of Obama is good for Netanyahu, I ask myself have you all gone crazy??' Livni said rhetorically, making reference to the results of the previous day's midterm elections in the US."

Kadima leader Tzipi Livni on Thursday commented on the warrant for her arrest issued in the UK on suspicion of war crimes last year, saying she would be 'willing to spend time in a British prison for Israel.'

Speaking at the Jewish People Policy Planning Institute (JPPPI) conference in Jerusalem, the former foreign minister cited her family history of defiance to the UK as her inspiration."





(NEWS) Livni To Ban: UN Must Stop Giving Ahmadinejad A Stage

"Opposition leader meets UN secretary-general in New York; pleads for diplomatic sanctions against Iranian regime; objects to UN flotilla probe.

Opposition leader Tzipi Livni met with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in New York on Wednesday, telling him that the United Nations must stop giving Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad a platform to speak.

Livni said that Ahmadinejad's speech to the UN General Assembly earlier this month proved that economic sanctions against Iran are not sufficient and further diplomatic sanctions preventing the regime from continuing to get a platform to express their extreme ideas are necessary."
