(NEWS) Five Israelis Hurt In Morocco Tour Bus Accident

"Five Israelis – four tourists and a guide – were hurt in an accident in Morocco Thursday. At least one of them is reportedly in serious condition. The Israelis were sitting inside a moving tour bus, when the side of a truck came loose and fell, striking their bus.

The accident occurred near Marrakesh, in southwestern Morocco, near the Atlas mountains.

The injured Israelis were evacuated to a nearby hospital but their condition is not yet known and details of the accident have yet to be ascertained."

"Last week I mentioned that there were a number of protests over the participation of Israeli singer Yael Naim in the "Concert for Tolerance" in Agadir, Morocco.

Well, the vigilant Arabs have sniffed out other Israelis visiting that city and they are not happy.

The Hespress Moroccan newspaper mentions that the Seventh International Congress on Cactus Pear and Cochineal was also held in Agadir this week, and it included an Israeli scientist who spoke on Tuesday (Noemi Tel-Zur on the scintillating topic of 'Pitahayas: introduction, agrotechniques and breeding.')

Last June, the paper notes, an Israeli delegation participated in a conference on whaling, also in Agadir."





(NEWS) 4 Flotilla Solidarity Ships To Sail To Gaza On September 18

"Deeb Hijazi, coordinator of the National Initiative Committee Against the Siege, based in Lebanon, stated that four flotilla ships will be sailing to Gaza on September 18.

Hijazi said that the 'Artery of Life 5' will be sailing on September 18 as this date marks the 28th anniversary of the Sabra and Shatilla massacres in Lebanon in 1982.

He stated that the first flotilla will be launched from London, the second from Morocco, the third from the Arabian Peninsula, and the fourth from Asia.

The ships will carry humanitarian and medical supplies, in addition to dozens of supporters from several countries, mainly from Asia." (source)

"Moroccan security forces have captured an 11-member terrorist cell headed by a Gaza-based Palestinian Authority Arab aligned with the aims of the international al-Qaeda terrorist group.

Yahya al-Hindi, a former member of the Islamic Jihad terror organization who is responsible for having built a global jihad network in Gaza that functions as a regional 'exporter of terrorism' is also known as Abu Kathada al-Shami. His 11-man jihad team included Moroccans from Casablanca, Azilal (in the Atlas Mountains) and Oujda (in the eastern part of the country)."

"Moroccan activists charged with anti-Semitism.

On a hot July afternoon, Noam Nir was sitting in his office in the coastal Moroccan city of Essaouira when he heard voices shouting from the street.

'I realized there was a demonstration on my doorstep, so I grabbed my camera and went outside,' Nir told The Media Line.

Outside, Nir encountered a group of high-school aged youth chanting Anti-Zionist slogans.

'Standing across my property and shouting ‘Zionism get out of here,’ it was clear who they were referring to,' Nir said, implying it was directed at him."

"Noam Nir, an Israeli businessman who lives and owns a property in Morocco, was shocked when he found out that the building he owns in the city of Mogador became the focus of an anti-Semitic demonstration. Speaking to Arutz Sheva, Nir expressed a serious concern that such demonstrations, that were not commonplace in Morocco until recently and have suddenly begun to appear on its streets, would lead to imminent harm anhd endanger the lives of the Jewish community in Morocco.

Nir also described another demonstration which occurred around the eve of Pesach in Morocco to which he was a personal witness. During the demonstration, which was aimed specifically the Moroccan King’s Jewish advisor (who is described by the locals as Zionist despite his pro-Arab positions), the protestors yelled anti-Israel and anti-US slurs, such as calling Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and US President Barack Obama murderers."
