(VIDEO) Jordan: Anger Over Dead Sea Scrolls Ownership

Israel is planning to publish online all 900 of the Dead Sea Scrolls with the help of the search engine Google.

This has for some bizarre reason caused anger in Jordan, who claims it owns the scrolls.

Amazing how they never cared before about the Dead Sea Scrolls (which has nothing to do with them anyway) but now suddenly they have an issue with Israel having them purely because it will be published online, or is that the real reason. Perhaps it is just another ploy by the anti-Israel lot to try and add another issue to the pile in the attempt to make Israel look bad.

(NEWS) 4 Flotilla Solidarity Ships To Sail To Gaza On September 18

"Deeb Hijazi, coordinator of the National Initiative Committee Against the Siege, based in Lebanon, stated that four flotilla ships will be sailing to Gaza on September 18.

Hijazi said that the 'Artery of Life 5' will be sailing on September 18 as this date marks the 28th anniversary of the Sabra and Shatilla massacres in Lebanon in 1982.

He stated that the first flotilla will be launched from London, the second from Morocco, the third from the Arabian Peninsula, and the fourth from Asia.

The ships will carry humanitarian and medical supplies, in addition to dozens of supporters from several countries, mainly from Asia." (source)

Mordechai Kedar is an Israeli scholar of Arabic literature and a lecturer at Bar-Ilan University. He holds the Ph.D. from Bar-Ilan University.

Kedar is an academic expert on the Israeli Arab population. He served for twenty-five years in IDF Military Intelligence, where he specialized in Islamic groups, the political discourse of Arab countries, the Arabic press and mass media, and the Syrian domestic arena.

Kedar drew attention with a June 2008 al-Jazeera interview in which he challenged the moderator's assertion that "You cannot erase Jerusalem from the Quran," pointing out that Jerusalem is not mentioned in the Quran.

"On the tenth anniversary of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's rise to power, a prominent human rights group has accused him of doing too little to change his country's long-running history of government oppression and abuse.

While Assad has used the US invasion of Iraq and the 'chaos' surrounding his country in the Middle East to justify his tight control over the limited freedom of expression allowed in Syria, Human Rights Watch (HRW) says that 'a review of Syria's record shows a consistent policy of repressing dissent regardless of international or regional developments'.

Assad's state security forces have jailed at least 92 human rights activists and 25 bloggers and journalists in the past 10 years, according to a report released by the organisation on Friday."

(NEWS) Iranian Leaders Blame Israel, US For Terrorist Bombing

"The Sunni Muslim terrorist group Jundallah has claimed responsibility for a double suicide bombing that killed 28 in Iran, and the two suicide bombers left photos and other evidence of their intentions before perpetrating the attack. Despite that, Iranian leaders have pinned blame for the attacks on Israel and America.

'Today, the country is mourning the tragic explosion in Zahedan which was done with the backing of Americans,' said Parliament speaker Ali Larijani."




My Opinion

Well of course it is Israel and the US to blame for a suicide bomber in Iran, I mean who else is there to blame for this type of activity, both the US and Israel are responsible for the Great Earthquake of Chile as well as the one in 1755 and to top it off they were both responsible for World War 1 & 2, Vietnam, the Holocaust, stale bread, dirty diapers and Chernobyl...

Seriously, Iran, take a closer look at the way you treat your own people and then decide whether they were acting under the social imprisonment of your own Regime before deciding to blame the West and Israel for every little mishap that occurs in YOUR world!

How is it that Israel and the US are responsible for this when Jundallah, a rebel group, claimed responsibility for this...

(NEWS) Libyan Ship Continues To El-Arish

"IDF confirms path; negotiations reportedly held with organizers.

The IDF on Wednesday confirmed that a Libyan aid ship, the Amalthea, had solved its reported engine problem and was continuing towards Egypt's el-Arish port.

According to the Arabic newspaper Asharq Alawsat, the diversion of the Libyan ship was brought about after negotiations which were held between Israeli authorities and the aid ship organizers."

"Plaintiffs claim Qatar-based network 'intentionally reported live coverage of locations of missile strikes inside of Israel to aid Hezbollah'; demand $1.2 billion in damages

On Monday, the fourth anniversary of the outbreak of the Second Lebanon War, a group of 91 Israelis filed a $1.2 billion lawsuit in a US federal court against al-Jazeera, claiming the Qatar-based new network’s war coverage aided Hezbollah, the Yedioth Ahronoth daily reported.

The plaintiffs are civilians who were wounded during the war or are relatives of victims of the Katyusha rockets that were fired on northern Israel for 34 days in the summer of 2006. The Kaplan vs. al-Jazeera suit seeks compensatory and punitive damages."

(NEWS) Iran Admits Sanctions Could Bite

"A senior Iranian official has acknowledged for the first time that sanctions against the country could slow down its nuclear programme.

Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of Iran's atomic energy agency, told the ISNA news agency on Wednesday that the sanctions could have some impact.

'Maybe they will slow down the work but they will not stop it, that's certain,' Salehi said."

(VIDEO) Homes In Gaza Destroyed By Hamas

In Gaza, around 20 families have had their homes demolished as part of a plan to regulate housing in the strip.

The deposed government of Hamas says the houses were built illegally on governmen towned land and should be torn down.

But the families say they paid for the land.

(NEWS) UN Summer Camp In Gaza Vandalized

"A group of armed men has vandalised a UN summer camp in the Gaza Strip, the second such attack in just over one month.

The attackers destroyed tents, toys, a plastic swimming pool and set much of the camp's equipment on fire on Monday.

John Ging, the head of the UN Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) in Gaza, called it a 'cowardly act,' and vowed to rebuild the camp quickly.

'This is another example of the growing levels of extremism in Gaza, and further evidence, if that were needed, of the urgency to change the situation on the ground,' Ging said."
