(NOTICE) "Abduct A Partner For Gilad Shalit" Hate Page Removed From Facebook

Recently another Hate Page was created on Facebook titled "The people want a bride for Gilad Shalit" (In Arabic), calling for the abduction of a female IDF soldier to marry the already kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit...

Ynet reported: "The intention behind the slogan is clear: A call for the abduction of an Israeli female solider who will serve as yet another Hamas bargaining chip in a future prisoner swap with the Jewish state."

Moments after this page was created, I added it to my list of Hate Speech groups to be removed from Facebook and also notified my contact at the Simon Wiesenthal Center... The page was sent directly to Facebook via my contact at SWC and was successfully removed due to this action in the same way that many other controversial Facebook hate pages were removed in the recent past... These removal campaigns included the notorious "Kill A Jew Day" & "Burn A Jew Day" events as well as the recently removed anti-semitic "News Cottage" blog... A big thanks goes out to SWC for the rapid assistance in these removals.

(VIDEO) Iranian Propaganda: Mark Zuckerberg "The Zionist" Offered Prizes To Israelis Who Kill Palestinians

Talk about some serious propaganda...and when exactly was Mark Zuckerberg ever a Zionist?

(h/t: JIDF)

(BIZ) Facebook VP: There’s A Lot Of Talent In Israel

"Blake Chandlee: We currently have no plans to open a development center in Israel, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t happen. Israel is an important market for Facebook.

'We currently have no plans to open a development center in Israel, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t happen. Israel is an important market for Facebook, both in terms of development and in commercial terms,' Facebook VP Asia Pacific, Latin America, and Emerging Markets Blake Chandlee told 'Globes'. 'It’s obvious that there’s a lot of talent in Israel, and we definitely are aware of that.'

Chandlee is participating in the 'Globes' Israel Business Conference 2010. 'The talent in Israel is obviously why companies like Google have already opened development centers in Israel, but it’s important to remember that we’re not like Google. Google has over 20,000 employees, whereas Facebook has about 2,000. All our developers are in Palo Alto. We naturally want to copy this model to other countries, but not in the near future.'

Chandlee started out as an entrepreneur, and then served as vice present at Yahoo! Inc. (Nasdaq: YHOO) at the company’s UK offices, where he was responsible for development. He joined Facebook three years ago, and was the first to open a company office outside the US. He was in Singapore for the telephone interview, and sounded pleased by the progress there. 'Facebook is succeeding in Asian markets,' he says. 'For example, in Singapore, 65% of the population is already on Facebook, and even the government has begun to use this tool to communicate with its citizens. Facebook has high penetration rates in both Japan and South Korea.

However, Facebook is still banned in the world’s largest Internet market - China - after the government blocked users’ access for reasons of censorship. 'Regrettably, most users in China have difficulty accessing Facebook. I won’t go into the reasons for this, but it’s something that we’re thinking about.'

'Globes': Are you in contact with the Chinese government?

Chandlee: 'There are no talks about this at the moment, but we definitely want everyone to ultimately have access to Facebook.'

Face to face with Google

Facebook has long been the world’s largest social network, and according to ComScore, it is the third largest website in the world, with 633 million different users per month, after Google Inc. (Nasdaq: GOOG), with 976 million users per month, and Microsoft Corporation (Nasdaq: MSFT) websites, with 840 million users. As a result, whereas in 2009, Facebook focused its competition against social network MySpace, and was busy with the rising popularity of Twitter, which could surpass it, it is now clear that Facebook’s real rival is the search giant.

You’re ahead of Google in time spent by users on site. When will you surpass them and become the world’s biggest website?

'In certain markets, we’ve already surpassed Google in terms of user traffic, and in the US, for example, we’re really head to head. But we don’t think that Facebook is competing with Google for traffic. We’re focusing on our business, and if that means that we succeed, so much the better. We don’t devote too much time comparing ourselves with Google. Most of the world does that for us, and that’s fine.'

As for the rumors that Google plans to set up its own competing social network, called Google Me, Chandlee says, 'There’s a lot of speculation about this, but we haven’t seen what it’s about, and we don’t deal with this.'

Last month, Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced Facebook’s new messaging system, which would enable users to manage all their communications - chats, e-mails, and text messages - on one site. Across the web, it was called the 'Gmail killer', but Zuckerberg quickly announced that they were not competing against Google or Microsoft’s e-mail services, and that this was a completely new communications system.

Nonetheless, Chandlee does not shrug off the rivalry. 'Obviously, we’ll compete against Gmail, Hotmail, and Yahoo Mail with our new system,' he says, but quickly backs off, saying, 'We think that the mail is becoming less relevant as far as personal correspondence is concerned. The young generation no longer uses e-mail for communicating with friends, and all interpersonal communications is changing. Facebooks’ new system was designed in a way that says that the e-mail revolution is already here. This is a messaging system, not a mail system.'

The new service will reach Israel during the first quarter of 2011. Chandlee says, 'The recent period was very pressured for our engineers, and they were busy building many products that will be launched only early next year.'

Facebook recently launched another service, 'Facebook Places', a location-based feature that enables users to update their physical location on the social network. Chandlee promises that, 'Places will arrive in Israel early next year, and Facebook Deals will arrive two months later.'
Facebook Deals is a service for businesses to offer local discounts and awards to active users.
'It’s possible to do better work in Israel'

Facebook will reportedly have $1.4 billion revenue in 2010, 100% more than in 2009. Chandlee says, 'Most of Facebook’s revenue comes from the US, even though 80% of Facebook users are in other countries.' This situation, he adds, 'will change dramatically, and I expect that the gap will narrow quickly. That’s exactly what my job is.'

Most of Facebook’s revenue comes from advertising. Chandlee says, 'We launched Facebook internationally three years ago, and 90% of the world’s largest 100 advertisers are already investing heavily in advertising on Facebook. We also have hundreds of millions of small businesses that use our advertising system in order to reach segmented target audiences. These are naturally smaller budgets, but they are an important source of our revenue.

In Israel, Facebook has linked up with portal Nana10, which beginning this year markets advertising space on Facebook Israel’s homepage as part of Nana10’s new media unit Masa.
'We have a good partner in Israel', says Chandlee. 'We launched operations in Israel in order to increase local awareness and offer support to anyone who wanted to operate on Facebook,' adding, 'Is it possible to do better work in Israel? I think so, and we’re devoting many efforts to this.'

Facebook’s market cap has been estimated at secondary markets at $40 billion. Does this seem high to you?

'The secondary markets are mainly driven by people’s opinions, and there’s a lot of demand compared to low supply. That’s why Facebook’s share price continues to rise, and I assume that some people believe that the price is crazy. But there are also experienced investors who are willing to buy the share at these prices, and even believe that they can still make a profit. In any case, time will tell if the price is too high or not.'

What did you think about the movie 'The Social Network'. Does it resemble Facebook’s real story?
'I think that I’m the only employee who hasn’t seen the movie. I’m constantly travelling and flying, but I know that Facebook rented three cinemas in Palo Alto for one day for its employees, and afterwards it invited the employees to dinner. I’ve heard that it’s a good movie, but even though everyone says that Mark is shown in a negative light in the movie, I realized that it wasn’t as bad as I’d heard.

'If you meet Mark, you’ll understand that he isn’t as exciting a character as the movie implies. He’s said, ‘I wish my life was so interesting, but in reality, in the past six years, I’ve mostly written code.’ But we understand his portrayal in the movie; you can’t sell a movie without sex, drugs, and rock’n’roll, and I’m anxious to see it.'

'Cellcom should have used Facebook to explain the breakdown to its customers'
Last week, Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) suffered the largest breakdown in its history, with more than three million subscribers nationwide unable to make or receive phone calls or SMS. The technical glitch was accompanied by a not-small crisis of communications, which led to many complaints by the carrier’s subscribers. Cellcom is one of the few leading Israeli brands that does not have an official Facebook page, and except for a laconic message on the company’s website, there was no special attempt to contact consumers via Facebook or Twitter.

Chandlee believes that this was a mistake. 'Brands must have a Facebook page, where they manage their community according to the brand's values,' he says. 'A breakdown like that, which disrupts consumers’ regular lives, will not disappear on its own. In a social environment, consumers have a voice, and when something like this happens, consumers want to complain. If they don’t have an official place to do so on Facebook, they will find someplace else.

'Cellcom should have used a brand page to explain the problem to consumers, tell what it was doing about it, and that it understood their feelings. Avoiding explanations isn’t the right way to deal with a crisis. Consumers want transparency and information, and a Facebook page makes it possible to easily disseminate the relevant information. In most cases, if a brand explains the breakdown to consumers, 90% of the complaints are solved on the spot." (source)

(TECH) Israeli Software Takes Us From Facebook Video Dating To Playing Games

"Israel's Rounds isn't the first video chat to work within Facebook, but the company claims to have the best interactive games and features.

Dany Fishel and Ilan Leibovitch didn't intend to build one of the hottest new video chat applications for Facebook. They were just looking for a way to help Israeli singles find a match online.

Originally a 'speed dating' website, the Tel Aviv entrepreneurs called their startup '6Rounds,' the idea being that six women and six men would meet for digital dating 'rounds.' The daters would have half an hour to chat and then the program would automatically match participants by profiles.

Worried that their daters would become bored during their five-minute sessions of Web time, Fishel (31) and Leibovitch (29) started adding features - an 'activities' screen where they could play games like backgammon and chess; the ability to share pictures and video; easy tools to 'mark up' pictures with special effects.

Before they knew it, the add-ons were attracting more attention than the dating program itself. In typical Israeli 'thinking on your feet' style, the company dropped the dating, re-branded itself as just Rounds, and last month launched a social networking application that allows friends to video chat without leaving Facebook.

Bridging the online and offline worlds

Rounds already had a sizable base for its post-speed dating website. There were 250,000 users who discovered the site when it was one of the first applications to be integrated into the now discontinued Google Wave, the search engine giant's attempt to build a next generation e-mail and content management service.

But by jumping into Facebook, the pool of potential users includes the entire 500 million strong Facebook ecosystem.
This has not been lost on investors, who have put some $2 million into the company - $1.5 million last August from Israeli Daniel Recanati's Rhodium Investment Group, and the rest from a group of angel investors including Startup Factory.

Social community marketing manager Natasha Shine tells ISRAEL21c that Rounds aims 'to bridge the offline and online worlds' - to take what two people would do if they were physically together and translate that to the Internet where they might be separated by miles or continents.

Shine proffers her relationship with her mother as an example: 'She lives abroad. For five years she's been saying to me 'you don't tell me what you're doing in your life.' Using Rounds, we could see each other and browse pictures together on Facebook. I can point to a particular shot with my mouse to show her a party that I went to last week.'

If Shine is so inclined, she can also take a snapshot of herself within the app, and decorate it with a variety of effects. Look Ma, I'm on fire! There are also animated characters - she could choose a cute little bunny - that can prance around the screen.

Focusing on the best interface

Still, Rounds isn't all fun and games and its investors expect a return on investment. Its business model includes selling 'premium' effects and characters. It does this using the popular Facebook currency of 'coins.' While some coins will eventually cost, today it's all free. And if you share your snapshots with the rest of the Rounds community, you automatically receive extra coins, which you can use to buy more effects.

Rounds is counting on third parties to create the effects. In August, the company released a developer API (Application Programming Interface), which allows outside vendors to build add-ons to the Rounds platform. The company clearly has its eye on Apple and its app store; a product with a digital ecosystem generally has a much greater chance of success.

Shine mentions eventual advertising as well. But 'we're very focused on providing the best user interface possible,' she says. 'We don't plan to bombard users with ads. It will be very subtle.' Virtual (paid) gifts will also be available to purchase within the Rounds world.

Rounds comes in two flavors: The newly-released Facebook app, and its web-based parent. The latter is far more functional than Rounds on Facebook - you can watch YouTube videos together, listen to music and browse external photo sharing sites like Flickr. The company is planning to release its own browser so that users will be able to visit websites together.

Integration with Facebook's text chat?

Up next is expanding to mobile devices such as the iPhone, and Rounds is using its latest investment to that end, and planning to add new features - for example, the ability to chat with up to six people at once. 'A US office is also in the long-term pipeline,' Shine reveals.

There may even be a new version of the original online dating service. For now, only two people who are formally friends on Facebook can video chat, but that may open up into what's known as 'chat roulette' where people can talk freely with anyone (with strict user privacy controls in place, of course). Intimations can already be seen. When you post a snapshot to Facebook, all Facebook users - even those you're not friends with - can see it and contact you.

Rounds isn't the only video chat program in Facebook; Friendcam is a notable forerunner. And the company has had some preliminary discussion with the social networking giant, although Shine would only disclose that a meeting between Facebook executives and Fishel and Leibovitch had taken place.

Could Rounds' video chat be integrated more tightly with Facebook's existing text chat function? We'll have to wait for the 'next round' to find out." (source)

(NEWS) IDF Blocks Soldiers' Social Media Access

"Israeli army cracks down on troops' use of Twitter, Facebook, Gmail account on military bases in attempt to prevent security leaks, potentially image-damaging posts from going viral.

The Israel Defense Forces plans to bar soldiers from using social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter as well as email sites like Gmail, while on base, in an attempt to prevent security leaks and embarrassing videos from going viral.

Lt.-Col. Gadi Abudi, head of the Intelligence Corps information security, said Tuesday that the idea was to prevent sensitive information from reaching Israel's 'enemies' via such popular social media sites."

(BLOG) Mark Zuckerberg, The Class Wounds Of A Jewish Upstart

"By Lee Siegel: The Social Network is many things, but mainly it is a dazzling polemic.

Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin and director David Fincher have performed an ingenious feat. They have used the old-fashioned medium of film, now under siege by the digital culture, to expose Facebook's manipulative culture of seeming self-exposure. When Mr. Sorkin told New York magazine that 'I don't want my fidelity to be the truth; I want it to be storytelling,' he was cleverly turning the tables on Facebook. With its perpetual invitation to treat other people as levers in a game of social climbing and control, Facebook puts reality up for sale to the most potent imagination.

Any reproach Mr. Zuckerberg might make to Mr. Sorkin for fictionalizing his life and portraying him in an unflattering light would crumble under the irony of Facebook's culture of self-fabrication. In the film, the Zuckerberg character's retort to a lawyer who is deposing him in one of the two lawsuits he is involved in, a caustic quip to the effect that everyone lies under oath, reflects the profitable temptation to play fast and loose with the truth that is at the heart of Facebook's universe.

But Mr. Sorkin is a master storyteller, and he is not simply laying bare Facebook's disconnected claims of connectedness. He is portraying the very social complexity that would provoke someone to not only invent the sanitized, asocial context of Facebook, but impel someone to join it.

Much has already been written about the film's opening scene, in which Zuckerberg is rejected and humiliated by a girl, resulting in the Wound that leads to revenge and triumph. But the even more fundamental factor in the birth of Facebook is the social atmosphere of Harvard.

Or, to put it more precisely, Harvard is its social atmosphere. In Mr. Sorkin's hands, the school's fabled academic prestige is merely a pretext for the manufacture of perfectly tuned social animals, trained and conditioned to succeed at all costs. The social interactions of Mr. Sorkin's Harvard kids are not conversations. They are impossibly self-conscious annotations of a conversation while it is happening, as if to act and speak spontaneously were to risk losing control and therefore to risk losing altogether. Each interlocutor has mastered the particulars of seeming to socially interact while secretly pursuing his own agenda. In Mr. Sorkin's vision, Facebook's calculating, commodifying framework is derived from the soulless social maneuvering that characterizes America's most elite university, which is a training ground for American elites. On the one hand.

On the other hand, Zuckerberg doesn't only embody the typical Harvard undergraduate's consuming anxiety to win no matter what. He also embodies the typical Harvard outsider's anxiety that he won't win at all. Whereas the learned conventions of Harvard gentility hide the Darwinian panting, the unfiltered Zuckerberg flings the reality of that ruthless ambition in the face of social artifice. He is the Harvard Jew at war with Harvard's WASP decorum.

I realize how anachronistic that distinction sounds. Harvard's WASP mandarinate long ago gave way to formerly proscribed outsiders, in particular the Jews. That is, until Larry Summers arrived as the university's president and incited everyone in Cambridge to once again think in terms of old guard and arrivistes.

One of the most brilliant and provocative scenes in the movie has the Winklevoss twins requesting an appointment with Summers in the latter's office. Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss want to convince Summers that Zuckerberg has stolen the idea for Facebook from them. They are legacy kids, princes of the rowing team and of WASP entitlement; the actor who plays them both is in fact a double for Al Gore. They consider themselves Harvard gentlemen, and they expect to be defended (i.e., rewarded) by Summers, the current protector of Harvard's code of honor.

They are barking up the wrong tree. Summers—flawlessly played by Douglas Urbanski, a Hollywood producer and sometime right-wing radio jock—is one step removed from Tom Cruise's militantly rapping, antically coarse Jewish producer in Tropic Thunder. Speaking bluntly, crudely, his thoughts seeming to fly into words without a social filter, he sounds just like Mr. Sorkin's Zuckerberg himself, and he rebuffs the twins. The furtively grasping WASPs are thwarted by the openly grasping Jews.

The film's crowning comic touch is to have Summers' assistant in the office at the same time. The assistant, who sits frozen to her chair in a kind of servitude, happens to be a black woman, and you will remember that Summers' downfall at Harvard was to imply that women were genetically inferior to men, as well as to alienate the entire African-American studies department by accusing it of a lack of academic accomplishment. At one point, Summers commands his assistant to 'punch me in the face' in order to express his disgust with the twins' expectation that he will take their side. That's just what Harvard's blacks and Harvard's women ended up doing. For a moment, the film brings to the surface the bruising social scrimmage underneath Harvard's polished conventions, as though to imply that Facebook's abstract social relations were a response to these woundingly hypocritical ones.

Yet as it becomes clear that Zuckerberg did indeed screw the Winklevosses out of shared credit for the idea of Facebook, you sympathize with the twins' invocations of Harvard gentlemanliness, even as you recoil from their empty sense of entitlement. Just as you sympathize with Zuckerberg's assaults on phony Harvard decorum, even as you are repelled by the way Zuckerberg the Harvard outsider infuses Facebook with all of the Harvard insider's calculation and insincerity.

There is far more to the Zuckerberg character than meets the eye. Critics have wrongly described him as emotionally dead. In fact, he triumphs because his subjectivity is stronger than anyone else's. He has a firmer grasp of emotional fundamentals. Unlike the Winklevosses, who want merely to make a social network based on exclusiveness, Zuckerberg wants to build the network on a single obvious yet atomically powerful principle: lust. He knows (from the male point of view) that Harvard undergrads will log on to the site to find out which courses will lead them to the girls they want to sit next to. Like Marx and Freud, mutatis mutandis, this contemporary Jewish revolutionary deploys psychological insight against impermeable social structures.

In The Social Network, Zuckerberg is yet another shocking Jewish outsider, yet another Jewish modernist shattering tradition, yet another Jewish argonaut of the unconscious. Marx thought he saw the mental destruction wreaked by capitalism's creative forces. Freud thought he saw a war of all against all beneath the happy facade of the bourgeois family. According to Aaron Sorkin (a Jewish counterrevolutionary?), Zuckerberg perceived the ruthless will to gratify oneself behind the pleasant conventions of friendship.

We may not want to return to the Winklevosses, but revolutions, à la Marx and Freud, also entail new imprisonments. Zuckerberg has liberated us from the painful complexities of tangible social relations only to abandon us to the unknown and as-yet-unclassified terrors of digital 'connections.' He has made it possible to 'like' something about which we have no passion, all in the name of an unquenchable desire. He has invented the first social environment to serve the needs of the imperial, asocial individual." (source)

(BLOG) Serendipitous Cross Cultural Sweep

"By Rodney A Finkel: On the eve of another round of dhimi (the American flavour) sponsored talks about talks about the possiblity of extending a jihadi hudna in order to create more favourable terms for Fatah to extract the right conditions to begin negotiating a peace that was offered to them unconditionally on the eve of the second intifada, I begin to remember why it is that the term negotiated peace has become a token symbol, a phrase rendered null in terms of meaning.

'Palestinians' have never wanted peace simply because they have always been a proxy, their aspirations to nationhood a facade and their adoption of 'Palestinian' as a token word, a subversion and inversion of the fact that the Jewish people are the true Palestinians. So once again we begin the same old dance.

It was also around this time, 9 years ago, when the French State Tv hoax/libel, known as the Al Durrah incident, was put in motion against the Jewish people. The ignorant and the complicit once again found a place to excercise their ignorance and or deconstructivist moral relativism and squeelled, like pigs, at the chance to compare Israelis to Nazis, Israel to Apartheid South Africa (ludicrous). This now obscure incident helped fan the flames of the second intifada and served as a symbol of supposed Israeli oppression of the Palestinians too the Palestinian and as a rallying cry for all that would deny Jewish people a home.

I wont easily forget my first introduction to the way people remain oblivious to truth and how they give themselves over to narrative so willingly. No one talks about how this focal point of lies served to ignite so much violence, anymore. Although the incident was exposed as being a hoax, the perpetrators are still working as journalists, the media entities that spread the lies never assumed culpability.

Most importantly, the thousands of people that sanctioned terror by what they termed 'freedom fighters' where now firmly entrenched in their view of what they perceived to be Israeli/Jewish agression and oppression. We were now the Nazis and the 'Palestinian' the ghetto dweller, who will take responsability for this crass inversion of reality and its now mass dissimenation in popular media?

Al durrah, the name of the victim and main protagonist of the French libel, lost his son simultaneously to 'Palestinian' terror and to the manipulation of his people to serve as proxies in a perpetual war against the Jew. This damocalean sword has another edge though, it is important to not let narrative overtake truth. To remain informed is to be able to put the shards together and to see that regardless of the facts, those that have an agenda will always have an audience.

So I take a little comfort in the beautifull irony that the lands and people that perpetrated the most heinous genocide in man kinds history, and still have the nerve to point self righteous accusatory fingers at our will to not submit to another 2000 years of their hate now have the ultimate demographic time bomb about to go off in their faces.

Their need for a cheap labour force, their two faced embrace of multi culturalism and their revisionist attempts to change the history and context of what their parents and grandparents did to the Jews, has now put them firmly on the road to dhimitude and the caliphate province of Pan Islamism known as Eurabia. Ironic justice indeed.

It is our perogative to forgive, its also our choice to smile at how their weak religious and civil institutions buckle to the Islamic cultural onslaught and how their elites in civil society are selling their cultures down another oil well for a few petro dollars more." (source)

(HELP) Facebook Group: "Kill The Jews" - to be removed! - UPDATED!

UPDATE: "Kill The Jews" has been removed from Facebook...

"Kill The Jews"
The title of an antisemitic group that was created recently on Facebook.

While the recently created group may seem harmless and small at the moment, only having 87+ Members so far, we all know how quickly these types of pages grow into thousands and are truly distasteful...

The creator of the page, who appears to be a White Supremist, has put the numbers '1488' in the shape of a swastika which represents White Supremacy. They call it the "Fourteen Words" which refers to the 14-word slogan: "We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children" and it can also refer to another 14-word slogan: "Because the beauty of the White Aryan woman must not perish from the earth."

Both slogans were coined by David Lane, a member of the white separatist organization The Order. The first slogan was inspired by a statement, 88 words in length, from Volume 1, Chapter 8 of Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf.

The 88 words:
"What we must fight for is to safeguard the existence and reproduction of our race and our people, the sustenance of our children and the purity of our blood, the freedom and independence of the fatherland, so that our people may mature for the fulfillment of the mission allotted it by the creator of the universe. Every thought and every idea, every doctrine and all knowledge, must serve this purpose. And everything must be examined from this point of view and used or rejected according to its utility."

White nationalists sometimes combine the number 14 with 88, as in "14/88" or "1488". The 8s stand for the eighth letter of the alphabet (H), with 'HH' standing for "Heil Hitler". '88' can also refer to the book 88 Precepts by David Lane. The '88' can also stand for the 88-word statement in Mein Kampf mentioned above.

Below the numbered swastika are 3 words, "Ein Volk", "Ein Reich", "Ein Fuhrer" which is German for One People, One Empire, One Leader and was one of the Nazis' most-repeated political slogans.

"Former Shas leader Aryeh Deri has a lot of 'friends' he doesn’t know about – at least on Facebook.

Many Israeli politicians maintain pages on the social-networking Web site that they update regularly. But if you happen to be 'friends' with the Facebook version of Aryeh Deri, the man you 'like' is not who you think he is.

Sources close to Deri said he was angry that his identity was being used by someone. His associates said he personally asked them to get the Facebook profile removed but they have not found who was behind it."

(TECH) Israelis Bring Video Chat To Facebook

"Dany Fishel and Ilan Leibovitch's new application lets you see your friends, play games with them, even watch films together over the internet.

Do you use Facebook's chat? Now you can also see the people you're talking to – for free. A new application was launched Wednesday on the social networking site, developed by the Israeli start-up company GixOO. The application, known as Rounds, enables video calls at a click – with no need to install any program.

The company was established by Dany Fishel, 31, and Ilan Leibovitch, 29, two years ago. The idea was born when Fishel and Leibovitch wanted to set up a kind of speed dating site, in which surfers would meet six other surfers within half an hour based on the program's profile matching."

(BLOG) Hezbollah Spies Via Facebook

"The Hizbullah agent pretended she was an Israeli girl named 'Reut Zukerman', 'Reut' succeeded during several weeks to engage more then 200 reserve and active personnel.

The Hizbullah agent gained the trust of soldiers and officers that didn’t hesitate to confirm him as a 'friend' once they saw he/she is friends with several of their friends from the same unit. Most of them assumed that 'Reut' was just another person who served in that elite intelligence unit.

In this way, Hizbullah collected information about the unit’s activity, names and personal details of its personnel, the unit’s slang, and visual information on its bases. This user / agent using Facebook is an example of a trend called fakebook."
