(VIDEO) Documentary: The Forgotten Jewish Refugees Of Arab States

Up to one million Jews have been forced to flee from Arab countries and hundreds of Jewish communities have been ethnically cleansed throughout this century. Most of these refugees now live in Israel and their old homes are no more. In fact, Jews who immigrated to Israel from Arab and Muslim lands and their descendants constitute about 50% of Jewish Israelis.

In the history of the Arab-Israel conflict, the United Nations have made 687 resolutions about the conflict. 101 of these resolutions dealt with the issue of refugees. It is astonishing to know that NOT ONE SINGLE resolution deals with the issue of Jewish refugees from Arab countries.

All 101 resolutions are about Palestinian refugees only. This is the hypocrisy of the United Nations.

This is a documentary named "The Forgotten Refugees".

It is a film about the mass exodus of Jews from the Middle East and North Africa in the 20th century.

The Forgotten Refugees explores the history, culture, and forced exodus of Middle Eastern and North African Jewish communities in the second half of the 20th century. Using extensive testimony of refugees from Egypt, Yemen, Libya, Iraq, and Morocco the film recounts the stories - of joy and suffering - that nearly one million individuals have carried with them for so long.

The film weaves personal stories with dramatic archival footage of rescue missions, historic images of exodus and resettlement, and analyses by contemporary scholars to tell the story of how and why the Jewish population in the Middle East and North Africa declined from one million in 1945 to several thousand today.

(VIDEO) Dr. Heskel Haddad: Jews From Arab Countries

Everybody is concerned about the plight of the Palestinian people. Peace process, roadmaps, United Nations and Arab leagues.

For over 60 years a group of Arabs have been held up in refugee camps in various Arab countries. Not allowed to settle down or to acquire citizenship in any Arab country.

At the same time, several million Jews from many Arab countries have been expelled from homes and land they lived in for over two thousand years.

Penniless and homeless, most have been absorbed in Israel, and they rebuilt their lives in a new world.

What of the billions they left behind in their old country? What of the land and culture they were forced to leave behind? What of their rights? What of compensation for their land and funds robbed and confiscated by their old host countries?

Dr. Heskel Haddad, an optolmologist in New York City, was expelled from Iraq in 1951, for the crime of being a Jew. Coming from a well off family, he was forced to leave it all behind, with just the clothes he had on his back.

Haddad is now asking for his voice to be heard. "When talking about the Palestinians, what about my land and possessions I left behind in Iraq?" asks Haddad.

Listen to a fascinating story of exile and persecution, which has a happy ending, but leaves miriads of questions to the entire world community unanswered.

Why do the Jews have to provide for the Palestinians that which their Arab brothers refuse to grant them?

Jews and Israel have absorbed their penniless brothers from Arab countries who were expelled and robed by the Arab world. Why don't the Arabs have to return that theft?

Who speaks on behalf of the Jews (expelled) from Arab Countries?

(BLOG) The Handling Of The Amalthea Shows Success On The Seas

"The handling of the 'Amalthea' provides a lesson.

The docking in El-Arish last Wednesday of the Libyan Gaza-bound 'aid ship' marks – from the Israeli perspective – a desirable ending to another maritime provocation. In our circumstances, nothing is ever guaranteed outright, but this may signal a new approach following the Mavi Marmara fiasco. This latest installment in what doubtlessly is an ongoing saga may just possibly indicate that operative conclusions have been drawn from what went wrong last time.

It’s clear such stunts will continue. Every last drop of propaganda-profit will be squeezed out before these ships are abandoned in favor of new ploys."
